Where’s our Post Box gone? Ask Amberley Slope residents!

Amberley Slope Post Box
At the end of January 2018, the post box situated outside No 41 Amberley Slope, Werrington, Peterborough, disappeared?

Local residents of Amberley Slope contacted the Royal Mail, to see what the reason was for the disappearance.

Responding, Royal Mail said that the post box was stolen, hence no notification was given to local residents.

Sadly, Royal Mail also said, “… we cannot replace the box to the location it was originally as we cannot attach the post box to the concrete post. The manager is looking to install the post box onto a pedestal however due to the lamp post in the location; there will be underground cabling which will stop us from being able to install the post box to its original location.”

At the time of writing this blog post, the post box is still missing.

I have therefore now contacted Royal Mail, to request an update and urge action as soon as possible, given the higher than normal number of retirees in the area, an the fact that it is near a school, and thus can be used by parents when dropping off or collecting their children.
